Key Festival Trends 2018By Style Counsel / April 18, 2018 / Blog,Style / 0 Comments
Whether you love or hate Coachella, you have to admit it is the fashion week of all festivals, setting the tone for the year ahead of partying in fields. Unfortunately for us, not all festivals are so glam and most of them (especially in Europe) will require wellington boots. Nonetheless, we can still take inspiration from Coachella to look at what we should be wearing this summer.
Cowboy boots, oversized denim, and bandanas wowed the style gurus this year, as florals took a back seat to welcome studs and tassels. This trend means you can take your winter boots out of storage and for a dance in the mud to your favorite artists.
It wouldn’t be festival season without denim, but unlike the last few years, classic daisy dukes and plain denim jackets have made a return, giving off that 90’s vibe. We saw both Rita Ora and Bella Hadid rocking this look with a simple vest top, who knew nailing a celebrity look could be so simple?!
We suggest: MOTO Fray Hem Kiri Shorts, Topshop
This season knitted crochet is a dominant trend with some unconventional twists. While crochet has been a classic festival trend for years many outfits were sporting crochet tops with rainbow tassels, metallic crochet and we’re even baring all by wearing a crochet dress over minimal underwear. Simply take any summer outfit from the street style to festival with this key trend.
We Suggest: Crocheted Top, H&M
The coordinate is a look that has been lingering for a few years, but this is the first year that it made a strong appearance at Coachella. A matching pair of shorts and a crop top worn with some boots and a leather jacket is a festival look that is guaranteed to turn heads, and the bolder the pattern the better we say!
