Revamp Your Wardrobe For FreeBy Style Counsel / March 24, 2018 / Blog,Style / 0 Comments
You don’t always have to buy something new to create a new outfit, sometimes all you need is a pair of scissors and an imagination. It can be super easy to turn a dress or jumpsuit into a brand new top for you to wear out, or you can transform some old boring jeans.
Turn an oversized shirt into a crop top.
All you need to do here is cut off the sleeves and collar, cut off the buttons, put the top on backward and tie up the remainder of the shirt! Alternatively, you can just take the shirt uncut and instead of doing up the buttons, take the fabric and tie it in a knot. Two new tops from just one shirt?! Fab.
Give your jeans a makeover
Everyone loves a pair of jeans that make a statement. With just a pair of scissors and a cheese grater, you can recreate this look. Simply cut vertically up the hem of your jeans so that you have multiple tassels, then run the edge of them along a cheese grater for a more rugged texture. Once you have done this, pop them in the wash to get rid of the ‘freshly cut’ look. Simple!
We like short shorts!
While it might be too cold across most of the world to even think about wearing shorts, but you need to think ahead when it comes to fashion! Whilst clearing out your wardrobe ready for a new season, keep some of your old jeans that you can turn into shorts. For a rough around the edges look simply snip off the legs and do the cheese grater trick from before. If you want a tidier looking pair of shorts then purchase a small sewing kit, fold up the hem of the shorts and neatly sew it from the inside. You now have yourself a new pair shorts for free!
Make A TurtleNeck An Off The Shoulder Top
If you find it hard to store away your winter clothes and prefer to purchase new wardrobes each season then you might love this DIY tip for turning your trusty winter warmer in a stylish off the shoulder top. Simply take your turtleneck top and cut from the top of the shoulder straight across. Do not worry if the line is not completely straight and the edges are not neat, this adds a unique twist to your new top.
